IN A NUTSHELL

At Bellroy, we geek out (unashamedly) on performance and technology, but balance it out by looking deeply into the beauty of design, the good in humanity and what the surf is doing. We consider art and science equally in our design process, and we don’t discriminate between work and play – because we believe that when you’re mad-keen on what you do, they aren’t mutually exclusive. We have a growing range of products, with deep design thinking and meticulous craftsmanship behind them. And we need a copywriter to help us tell our customers what’s so great about them.

As our copywriter, you would work with the brand’s product designers, UX team and Brand Communications Director to craft product copy for our website, convince browsers to click on a collection page, and recognise opportunities to make the micro copy work harder. You would practice your perspectives to put yourself in our customers’ shoes, and speak directly to them about the things they need. And you’d work with our UX, marketing and creative teams on product release activities, design articles, social media content, product buying guides and more.

YOU COULD BE THE ONE, IF...

  • You are a junior to mid-weight copywriter with at least 1–2 years copywriting experience.
  • You are an inspiring communicator who knows the difference between a good sentence, and a great one.
  • You know just what it means to make every. single. word. count.
  • You feel comfortable ‘in the weeds’ – fine-tuning details, noticing missteps and recognising opportunities for experimentation and optimisation.
  • Your understanding of SEO and UX practices are solid. Your understanding of human behaviour, deep. And your motivation to find the phrase no other brand has used before, strong as hell.
  • You ask questions. A lot of questions. You aren’t afraid to ask “why?” as many times as it takes to get to the heart of things.
  • As you’ll be writing about carry products – and the world that surrounds it – experience with carry and softgoods would hold you (pardon the pun) in good stead.

IF YOU WERE HERE LAST WEEK, YOU MIGHT HAVE...

  • Written an info pack for a new product we’re launching – including copy for bellroy.com, Amazon and The Iconic, while considering SEO value of page titles and meta descriptions – and then shared it with the content team for translation
  • Reviewed and approved search ad copy for the digital marketing team
  • Worked with the social media team to create a design deep dive video with the product designers
  • Mapped out a guide for the website, to help customers choose the right sling for them (because we have many!)
  • Joined a Friday afternoon creative team brainstorm for an upcoming campaign, in which you embrace the all-in, throw-it-out-there, ‘no idea is a bad idea’ environment
  • Re-written an old product page to reposition it with the current range of products in mind
  • Initiated an A/B test on the language we use in our checkout
  • Had a chat with our product design team, to get a solid understanding of a new product’s USP and target customer, before starting to write about it
  • Internally questioned the temptation of using superlatives to describe a product, and worked hard to find some tangible proof points to get the message across instead.

La nostra sede principale sulla spiaggia si trova dietro gigantesche scogliere di arenaria, che si affacciano su una delle coste australiane più famose per il surf. È qui che i nostri Product Designer fanno le prove nel Maker Lab e il nostro team di vendita consuma quantità impressionanti di caffè e traffico internet su Skype. Qui siamo più tranquilli rispetto ai nostri vicini a Fitzroy e ci piace la concentrazione che si viene a creare. Se hai bisogno di un boccone c'è un bar proprio qui accanto e alle 11:00 controlliamo sempre se ci sono le condizioni per fare surf, l'occasione perfetta per rinfrescare la mente con un po' di aria salina.

Fitzroy

Il nostro spazio di Fitzroy è immerso nel centro creativo di Melbourne. È qui che i nostri team creativi, marketing, ingegneristici e operativi sviluppano campagne e garantiscono che ogni prodotto Bellroy venga inviato in sicurezza in tutto il mondo. Esci dalla porta e troverai strade piene di energia (e il miglior ramen al di fuori di Tokyo).

Al di fuori delle due nostre sedi principali, abbiamo una squadra che lavora a distanza - dall'Australia occidentale a parti dell'Asia, degli USA e dell'Europa.
